Mental

Ever since I was a kid, the one thing that always stopped me doing my best was my mind, I'm a pessimist, I always expect the worst. It always annoyed me, but thats probably because I was annoyed with myself for being annoyed.

And this mental block came to me with Parkour, I'm not fearless, I'm quite the opposite, I know I have the skill to do something, but if its something bigger, newer, I just get into the, I can't mindset.

It happend in Leeds, (I went on saturday, thanks to everyone that met me) but Alistair and Jamie helped me to get over it, there was this running arm jump and I was practising it, and I was getting a foot on it and a I knew I could do it, but I wasn't commiting. Alistair and Jamie helped me to commit, and I stuck it. I think I was in the wrong mindset but I managed to resuce myself, I intend to follow this through and as I know my limits I can do anything within them, nothing should be there blocking me, especially not my mind.

So, yep :)

Boredom

So, as my half term draws to an end, I made a video to ease my boredom.

Its nothing interesting, just a few catpass precisions and some rail work. The intro is for the lulz too.

Ball Whiplash

Interesting title for a post me thinks.

I've been trying to learn how to trick, so far I can sort of front and side.
Made a video, so any advice would be nice.

Indeed.

Just been out in the garden trying to get my sides a lot better, anyway, slipped on the grass and just spun, and crushed my balls in the process.

Nice.

Solo Training

I havent really trained with the people I normally train with in my area for a long time.

One has broken his arm, the other has gotten a job :/

So I have to train on my own, something I never did before, but now I've started I really quite like it.

Finding new movements, overcoming fears, doing things at your own pace.

In other news, my physics teacher used my videos to 'teach' about forces and motion. More like so we could all watch and have a laugh.

Still, it's all good stuff.

Tim on the rocks!

Today me and my Dad went up onto the Moors to train on some rocks, well, I was training, he was watching/filming.

After the 3 days of rain beforehand the rocks in scugdale (first part of video) were a bit wet, though with them being sandstone they were dryer than I expected. So barefoot was the way to go for more grip!

Was really good and the wet didnt stop me from enjoying myself.

Then back into the car to Clay Bank, a short walk into the wainstones, and a totally differnet area from scugdale. The rocks were now dry and the training commenced, I had never trained here and it was pretty damn good fun.

Give the video a watch and a comment!

Jam in Leeds (22/9/07)

So, after being at a party the night before I woke up nice and early and caught the 9.06 train from Eaglescliffe to Darlington, then at Darlington meet the Newcastle guys on the train.
We made pleasant small talk, and did maths sums (x=suck my dick, fag) We then changed at York, hopped onto another train to Leeds (played squares on the way) and me Hollie at the station.

Hollie showed us to the art gallery, at this point I can safley say we were all totally lost!
But, we decided we'd warm up and start training. A few fun arm jumps, and vault variations could be found at the art gallery, and after popping up a wall and nearly walking into a homeless man, I was a tad suprised.

Then Ben, and Joe arrived, talked to them for a bit, and soon after I was given the nickname of Longshaft...

We then moved onto the Library, I did an arm jump from the top step which I was pleased with, also did the dyno that Joe had shown us all how to do.

I was really pleased at this point was my climbups had all been good, slappy, as I call them. Hands flat on the wall straight away.

Anyway, we moved onto a church and tricking ensued, as none of the Newcaslte lads are trickers apart from Lee we played about with some variations, and movements. We also did a bit of a buildering and I managed to do the splits onto a windowsill.

After what seemed like a life time of a tricking fest, TP and I visited subway, I was baffled how this shop worked and TP helped :D

We then went to the scaffolding which was really good. Me and Joe swapped shoes, the K-Swiss feel weird after wearing feiyues all the time.

I also nailed the catpass precision which I was happy about.

Then we buggered off to Morrisons, leaving the Geordies behind, who, got lost.

After standing on the Morrisons arm jump take off point (statue thingy) It was a pure mindfuck, I couldnt do it at all.

I had to walk away, sadly.

There will be another time.

Then off to dash wall which was boring, to be honest.

So me Hollie, and the other chaps went back to the art gallery before catching our trains home.

The train was possibly the funniest part of the day.

Anyway, I really enjoyed myself, thanks to Ben, Joe, Hollie, Jamie, Boydo (hahha) and other Leeds fags.

Tim out.
